4:00pm apple beignet

11-05 apple beignet
Let's add apple beignets to the list of things we'll usurp and call American. Although in the case of these "apple beignets" from Cafe Select, we might call them "apple slices dipped in dough and deep fried" instead. Be warned, they are not meant to be ordered in a to-go fashion. They are fried to order and should be enjoyed on a nice china plate with appropriate silverware following a good meal, not from a hastily carried plastic container.
Cafe Select, 212 Lafayette Street at Kenmare

Here's to all things American, especially on this post-election November day! This looks autumn delicious. Thanks for the daily reminder to stop and smell what's cookin' for lunch. Even better, to do so with a friend.

I am in Paris for two weeks. I recommend we also usurp cafe creme, croissants and profiteroles.
